Spring 2008 Workshop Schedule
Regeneration Workshop and Screening Hosted by the Canadian Filmmakers Distribution Centre (CFMDC) the workshop will demystify what the CFMDC does and how independent filmmakers can get their works distributed through the centre. The CSIF presents the Calgary premiere of "Regeneration", a series of works commissioned for the 40th anniversary of the Canadian Filmmakers Distribution Centre. 7 Artists were commissioned to choose works that were important influences in their own work, each artist then created a new work in response. We will screen all 14 films side-by-side. This is a great opportunity to see some of the fantastic talent, both past and present, that have come out of the Canadian film scene. CSIF Summer Media Arts Camp for Teens This summer, Calgary teenagers ages 14 – 17 will have an opportunity to write, direct, shoot and edit a film in the Summer Media Arts Camp. The Calgary Society of Independent Filmmakers (CSIF) is joining local teens with professional filmmakers for this camp, which takes place July 21 – Aug. 1, 2008. This hands-on experience is the only camp of its kind in Calgary offering youths great experience in the art of film production. |

17th Annual $100 Film Festival Flashback II The CSIF is giving 10 filmmakers the opportunity to make their first film - Apply to recieve 200' of Super 8 film (processing included), free equipment rental and post facilities as well as free enrollment in seven days of professionally taught workshops.

2008 Summer Media Arts Camp for Teens The CSIF is proud to present the 17th annual Summer Media Arts Camp to be held July 21 to August 1, 2008. This unique opportunity allows teenagers aged 14 to 17 to write, direct, shoot, and edit a film under the guidance of professional filmmakers. The small class size allows each participant to get experience working in all aspects of the film production process. Many past participants have gone on to careers in film and video so this is a great opportunity to explore filmmaking as a career option.
